Tamegroute ceramics

We have a large collection of green glazed Tamegroute ceramics. Each Tamegroute ceramic is unique. The unique green glazed colour of the Tamegroute pottery is due to the baking process, whereby a combination of silicon, copper and manganese are used in the earth ovens. This technique is known by a few families from the small village Tamegroute. Tamegroute lies in Southern Morocco, right on the border with the Sahara. In the village there are 7 potteries, each from a different family. All Tamegroute ceramics have their three marks as the items are piled up in the oven. Each ceramic has its own perfect imperfections.
